The BOC has a gear room in the ground floor of the Campus Center (directions below), where we have a large selection of outdoor gear. We use these items for the trips we sponsor, but we also offer the opportunity for students to rent out gear from us. If you're interested in renting gear for your own trip with friends, we also provide consulting about what you might need, how to plan your trip, and any other questions. If you're interested in renting gear, or just want to come see our selection and learn about how to use things, come visit our gear room during open hours!

BOC gear is available for personal use by any Brown community member. To rent gear, visit our gear room (directions below) during any of our hours (above), and we'll help you find what you need. Rental prices are very cheap (typically, no more than a handful of dollars) even for extended periods of time, but if you lose or damage the gear, you will need to pay for replacements. Cash is accepted, but not necessary; a phone will do just fine (we have a QR code that lets you pay online).

Our gear room is located right down the hall from the Kasper Multipurpose Room in Faunce. If you are looking for the room, enter Faunce House and head down to the bottom floor. Turn so that you're walking east (toward Thayer St.), and walk through the orange hallway to a large, open room (Kasper). Walk through the room and into a small hallway in its back right corner. The gear room is through the first door on your right (the one with the ominous "Fire Door Keep Shut At All Times" sign). Don't let the sign scare you; c'mon in!
